What's the time?

I've been having a conversation about wall clocks.

These are all made by Infinity.

And, okay, this isn't a wall clock, but I like it.

Scout it out

My daughter's wonderful preschool is fund-raising.
Why am I mentioning that? Well, they're doing it in a pretty Covetable way.

Scout is a line of organic kids clothes with great colors. They're offering a coupon code (GRIFFIN) that will get you 30% off, and donating 30% of sales to the school.

I like this colorblock dress a lot.

Orange and blue, pink and brown. What's not to like?

It's on through December 15 and sizes run up to 4T.

Sweet

I'm a pretty big fan of the colored metallic shoe thing -- as you may remember.

These look pretty amazing (thanks for the tip, S). I haven't seen them in person, though, so until I do I won't actually recommend them. (By the way, Sweet Shoes, you should hit up the Bay Area so I can see you.)

But they are pretty ridiculously nice.

Tick-tock, tick-tock

I realized a couple days ago that I seem to be collecting small clocks.

I didn't think about it until I bought two more from IKEA. (They aren't all from IKEA, though.)

My husband sort of looked at me funny and said, what are these for? Good question, I replied.

So now if I say I have a clock collection I have an excuse to get more, right?

This George Nelson one is fantastic.

Maybe your reach, not mine

It's sort of a joke for Design Within Reach to send me a catalogue. The name on its own just kills me. I mean, the day I buy a $500 desk lamp is the day I have no furniture in my house except a $500 desk lamp.

However, these scissors are beautiful. Maybe not $100 beautiful, but covetable nonetheless.

On the other hand, this unadorned canvas bag is also $100. There is no way you can convince me a tote bag needs to cost that much. At least stencil a damn bird on it!

But, you know, DWR has realized some of the arcane knowledge of LL Bean:

"Used for its industrial strength and durability, canvas is an ideal material for a tote bag."

I am not your bag

So I bought this great bag. This is not it.

But, see, the one I bought is already dying. I deserve it, I suppose, for going to New York with all of my stuff in it, plus Neal Stephanson's Anathem (if you see it, you know it's a doorstop). It's just vinyl, so the stress points are splitting and it's not going to last long.

So that's not my bag, but it's cute.

The return of the plastic mammoth

So a friend remembered I didn't have a picture of "that IKEA crib."

Now I do!

Luma

This is a nice store in Petaluma. I don't know if anything is available online, but pretty stuff. Maude.
